Pemilu 2009 bukan saja komponen penting dari proses
demokrasi, tetapi juga merupakan mekanisme suksesi kepemimpinan. Ini
menjadi amat penting bagi bangsa Indonesia yang berada dalam masa
transisi yang belum berakhir dan dihadapkan pula pada berbagai krisis.
Kepemimpinan yang kuat dan berkompeten dan desisif amat diperlukan,
baik untuk menyelesaikan krisis maupun memandu bangsa agar masa
transisi segera dapat diakhiri. Pertanyaannya adalah, apakah Pemilu
2009 mampu menghasilkan pemimpin dan kepemimpinan seperti itu?
