The Indonesian Society – UK is on a mission to celebrate the culture of Indonesia by promoting an Indonesian Cultural Charity Night that will present the diversity of Indonesia’s people and places.
This event will take place in Manchester, and will have a number of performances: dances, singing, short plays, and poem reading, that will introduce to the the audience a visual representation how old traditions have merged into modern times and make Indonesia the way it is today.
However, our true mission is to support children receive better education in Indonesia. Thousands of elementary schools do not have proper buildings, often classes are taught in tents; lack of school supplies (e.g. books, furniture); these are just a few of the many reasons why we are committed to aid the less-fortunate children in Indonesia.
100% of the revenue generated from sales will be donated toward this mission. So we welcome you to come and bring you friends to experience Indonesia like you never before (unless you have been there :P), and at the same time, giving children in Indonesia a chance to better education.

<!--Session data-->Indonesian culture has been shaped by long interaction between original indigenous customs and multiple foreign influences. Indonesia is central along ancient trading routes between the Far East and the Middle East, resulting in many cultural practices being strongly influenced by a multitude of religions, including Hinduism, Buddhism, Confucianism and Islam, all strong in the major trading cities. The result is a complex cultural mixture very different from the original indigenous cultures.

Excellent read, I just passed this onto a colleague who was doing a little research on that. And he actually bought me lunch because I found it for him smile So let me rephrase that.
